Afsara Sadiya

Afsara Sadiya is from Seattle, WA and graduated from WWU in Winter 2021 as an English major (Creative Writing) and Spanish minor. In her free time, she enjoys reading, baking, listening to music, and writing poetry. Her poetry and photography have been published in Licton Springs Review and she won a League for Innovation poetry award. She plans to work in an editorial role in the future and would like to be involved in making the publishing industry more inclusive. She believes that more stories about minorities need to explore experiences not centered on race, in order to break past stereotypes and focus on who people of color are, rather than what they are.
