the halo around lights seen through rainy glass is an iris is 2 rings orbiting a planet which cannot be seen through a telescope. only your mother’s glasses. my father used to tell me that a ring around the moon means it’s going to rain tomorrow. what does it mean to encircle a streetlight. if i balance 3 ladders on top of each other and stretch my bright blue taffy arm real long will i be able to touch the moon

i cross sidewalk lines / colorado into new mexico. neither of these are states i have been to but here i can pretend. see the way they line up / corner pressing on / corner pressing on corner / pressing on corner pressing / on corner / in a merry go round of squares and friction. there is a man grunting in the street and i want to ask him what he knows about friction. when was the last time you felt it and how did you know whether to lean in or pull away

you make me feel 5 2 5 electric and i wanted to write a whole poem about the bus lines and how superb it sounds to get on the 512 to sudden valley but i just didn’t know how to write about the 49 bakerview spur line so i stopped. humans are all soft shell creatures aren’t we. we name things like we hurt but still we want to touch them. how i want to see something so startling i can’t help but name it sudden. how i want to breathe
