Jeopardy is an annual publication out of Western Washington University, featuring poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction and visual art. First published in 1965, it has a long legacy of presenting contemporary joys and anxieties, as well as themes that transcend decades. In 2003, the magazine decided prioritize the voices of Western’s community by limiting submissions to work by students, faculty, staff, and alumni. Whoever, wherever, whenever you are, we hope you find what you’re looking for between these pages.
The 56th edition has been printed and will be available on campus in fall 2021. Look for it in Wilson Library, Humanities, Miller Hall, and Old Main, alongside the 57th edition.
Jeopardy Magazine is a space to cherish the creative work of the students, faculty, staff, and alumni who make Western Washington University uniquely us. We are a student-run undergraduate publication rooted in the belief that uplifting the diverse and varied voices of Western’s community is crucial work. We seek submissions, across genres and mediums, that resonate emotionally. With a focus on reflecting local culture and authenticity, we hope to publish work that embodies the authors’ own voices. Our mission is to showcase the multicultural and interdisciplinary art and writing of the campus community each year. Every issue of Jeopardy is a moment in time, in place, in collective spirit.
