About
Jeopardy is an annual publication out of Western Washington University, featuring poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction and visual art. First published in 1965, it has a long legacy of presenting contemporary joys and anxieties, as well as themes that transcend decades. In 2003, the magazine decided prioritize the voices of Western’s community by limiting submissions to work by students, faculty, staff, and alumni. Whoever, wherever, whenever you are, we hope you find what you’re looking for between these pages.
Our Mission
Jeopardy Magazine strives to platform work that is reflective of the wonderful community of students, faculty, staff, and alumni belonging to Western Washington University. We are a student-run undergraduate publication firmly grounded in the accessibility, diversity, and inclusivity of content. Our magazine is both a celebration and a preservation of stories, poetry, essays, art, and multimedia projects that provide ample nourishment at the end of every scholastic year. Beyond just our yearly publication, the Jeopardy team hopes to act as a resource on campus: fielding questions of craft and helping writers grow with the intent of reconnecting with each other in face of the pandemic. The work we receive is a testament to the talent and strength of our campus; a mosaic of pieces to come home to.
